She's kidnapped but from the beginning she was full of strength and fight and she's actually way more intelligent that we are led to believe at first. It's well written, holds one's interest, and the character development is detailed, believable, and interesting. I didn’t know why the MCs behaved how they did with each other. Presented via clever and unmistakable Teresean illustrations that include handwritten text and word balloons, CHICKEN tracks the autobiographical plot of a girl named TJ who used to be “very, very allergic” to cats, grew out of the allergy (or the allergy grew out of her), had recurring dreams of a green-eyed black-and-white “tuxedo tabby” and eventually adopted and adored just such a cat until her (the cat’s) death many years later. A young suitor presents himself and tries to capture her heart with many splendid gifts. According to Stephen Mansfield, the difference is in the world-view of the beholder. Any cyclist knows how annoying it can be to try and explain the peleton and other strategies during the race. What she gets is a dream, not only is she getting her first assignment, she is partenered with Jack for an undercover couples weekend. I don't want to spoil any one of you, so just take my word for it that you are going to be in for a ride with this one. In fact, I haven't finished it yet.
