. Makes reading every night more fun. I suppose you won't get a better recommendation than that. I never write reviews for books but I can't just walk away from this one. There's a particular phenomenon (as I tell my Psychology students) in which society tends to infantilize pregnant women, as though we aren't carrying infants, but becoming infants. For women who dared to buck the status quo, the inevitable demise of their children is the result, Yates suggests. The author cranks these out so fast that the pop culture references are accurate and up to date which is surprising and makes the book hit home, even though it's full of werewolves, super soldiers, anime type girls. This book gives a warm and happy feeling to the reader as the characters bring warmth and fire to each other as they realize what their relationship really is. Each novella features one of the couples around Christmastime. Stephen Amidon's previous books include The New City and Subdivision.
