This book could have helped me sort through the fog much faster. It is very proactive and progressive in its method, so anyone with a Creationist viewpoint would want to stay away from this one. Sometimes it seems as though the authors get tired of their stories before the readers do. This book is memorable in several ways: Sue Monk Kidd's original, quirky, highly perceptive portrayal of life in the deep south; the serious issues of racism and religion are shown - not in the usual hackneyed way, but with an irreverence and humour that made me smile time and again.
